The Forest Service is restoring a section of grassland and forest along the Columbia River Gorge, formerly the site of an abandoned Aluminum factory, the area is now repopulating with native wildlife.
Follow the Confluence trail to the river on a fairly maintained wide gravel path. This is a dedicated all access footpath and dogs are required to be leashed. The end of this trail meets a Bird Watch installation, and offers two options for a return.
The Meadow trail leads into the grasslands and skirts the edge of the accessible area, weaving its way back to the parking lot. Careful footing may be required in the wet season as large puddles are sporadic.
